Mirzaganj Upazila Lawyers Society organised its Iftar and Doa Mahfil on Thursday at Supreme Court Bar Association Auditorium in the city.

High-ranking officials of government and private sector, businessmen, politicians, members of organizations and their family members of Mirzaganj Upazila were present.

Additional Secretary of Local Government Department and Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation Md. Shahjahan Mia, former ambassador and secretary Md. Abu Zafar, former principal of Patuakhali University College Prof Abdul Mannan, DIG of Police Ruhul Amin Shipar, Director of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Zafar Imam Sikder, former convener of Mirzaganj Upazila BNP Ashraf Ali Howlader, Senior Vice President of Upazila BNP SM Ahsan Ullah Pintu Sikder, among others, were present at the event.

The speakers present emphasized on building unity among all, regardless of party affiliation, for the sake of development and progress of Mirzaganj.

They said that with time, many people from Mirzaganj are getting opportunities to work at high levels of the government. They are also doing well in other professions. In that case, if they work for the area from their respective positions, this southern upazila will not be left behind in any way.

The speakers said these at the iftar of the Mirzaganj Upazila Lawyers Society at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium on Thursday.

The organization's president, Supreme Court lawyer Abdus Salam Khan, presided over the event, and the chief guest was Syed Mahbub Hossain, President of the Barishal Divisional Lawyers Association.

The program was hosted by the organization's Secretary and Supreme Court Appellate Division lawyer Md. Abu Taleb and Joint Secretary Adv Khandaker Moniruzzaman.
