Memorial meeting, cultural programme held in Sylhet

A memorial meeting and cultural program was held in memory of the martyrs and injured in the anti-discrimination student movement at Ambarkhana Girls School and College presided over by Zamir Uddin, the principal of the institution . Teachers, students, officers and employees of the institution were also present on the occasion. The ceremony begins with recitation from the Holy Quran and reading of the Gita.
Zahura Begum, Assistant Head Teacher of the institution, Teacher Representative Senior Lecturer Tamanna Rahman, Senior Lecturer Muharram Ali, Lecturer Md Rezaul Haque, Senior Teacher Abul Kalam, Assistant Teacher Karim Sheikh and students of different classes spoke in the meeting . The speakers commemorated the martyrs of the July uprising and appealed to everyone to work for the country in the spirit of the uprising.
In the closing speech, the principal of the institution said that all the movements before and after the birth of the nation called Bangladesh have been successful. I offer my condolences to those who were martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement, seeking forgiveness for their souls.
He also said that what the politicians could not do despite many years of efforts against the previous government, the student society of the country has succeeded by involving the people. The next elected government should learn from the mistakes of the previous government. Everyone should be careful about this. A wonderful cultural program was presented by the students.
At the end of the ceremony, 1 minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs and injured of the July uprising. Senior teacher Abul Kalam led the prayers for the souls of the martyrs in the anti-discrimination student movement and for the recovery of the injured . The program was moderated by Sharmila Das, Lecturer of Bangla Department.
