Medical College to be established soon : Three advisers discuss infrastructure dev in Munshiganj

Three advisors of the interim government participated in a discussion meeting on the infrastructural development of Munshiganj district. The meeting was held on Monday morning at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.The meeting covered ongoing and planned infrastructure development projects, including the establishment of a government medical college, road development by the Roads and Highways Department, road-related projects in Munshiganj, the Katakhali canal development project, and the Mawa ferry terminal area development project. Officials from the relevant departments presented the progress and plans of their respective projects. The advisors gave assurance that a government medical college will be established in Munshiganj very soon. Other projects were also discussed with importance, and instructions were given to ensure regular follow-ups and speedy implementation.A special segment of the meeting included the unveiling of “Protnokotha”, an informative and visually rich travel book highlighting archaeological and tourist spots of Munshiganj district. Initiated by the District Administration of Munshiganj, the book features detailed descriptions, history, locations, and photos of important sites from all six upazilas (sub-districts) of the district. The advisors present at the meeting officially unveiled the book.In addition, a booklet titled “Birthplace of the '24 Uprising” was also published to commemorate the July 2024 mass uprising. This booklet provides a chronological account of the events of the recent July movement across the country, including Munshiganj, and contains photos and information about the martyrs from Munshiganj. It serves as a brief compilation of Munshiganj’s role in the movement.After the meeting, the guests participated in a press conference with journalists.The meeting was presided over by Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Fatema-Tul-Jannat. Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture, Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.)Adviser to the Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Adilur Rahman Khan Adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Mr. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki were present. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan Secretary of the Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance, Md. Shahriar Kader Siddiky Secretary of the Local Government Division, Md. Nizam Uddin Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Md. Nazrul Islam Secretary of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Mozumderc Ating Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Md. Mofidur Rahman Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), Major General Abdul Qayyum Molla CEO of the Tourism Board, Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber Additional IGP of SB Police, Md. Golam Rasul Director General of the Department of Archaeology, Sabina Alam Chairman of BIWTA, Commodore Arif Ahmed Mostafa DIG of Dhaka Range, Bangladesh Police, AKM Aulad Hossain Chief Engineer of LGED, Md. Abdur Rashid Mia sndother senior officials from different sectors of the country attended.
