May Day rally, discussion meeting, workers’ gatheting held in Morelganj

On the occasion of International May Day, a colourful rally and workers’ gathering was held in Morelganj, Bagerhat at 11 AM on Thursday.
A rally was organized by the Upazila and Municipal Workers’ Wing of the BNP. Starting from the party office, the procession paraded through various streets of the town and ended at the Nobboirshi Bus Stand, where a workers’ gathering took place.
The chief guest at the event was Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon, BNP leader of Bagerhat-4 (Morelganj-Sarankhola) constituency and a nomination aspirant. The event was presided over by Masud Khan Chunnu, president of the Municipal Workers’ Wing.
Special guests included Md. Shahidul Haque Babul, convener of the Upazila BNP; Shikdar Faridul Islam, president of the Municipal BNP; and Prabhasak Russel Al Islam, joint convener of the Upazila BNP. The keynote speaker was Md. Harun Or Rashid, convener of the Shyampur Thana Workers’ Wing. Other speakers included Md. Mojnu Molla, president of the Upazila Workers’ Wing, and Moshiur Rahman Jewel, general secretary of the Municipal Workers’ Wing.
The event was conducted by Md. Asaduzzaman (Shamim), General Secretary of the Upazila Workers’ Wing. On the other hand, a separate rally and gathering was organized by the Workers’ Welfare Federation, Upazila and Municipal branches, under the theme “Implementation of Islamic labor policy is essential to establish the rights of working people.”
The chief guest at this event was Principal Abdul Alim, Education and Research Secretary of Bagerhat District and nominated candidate of Jamaat for Bagerhat-4 (Morelganj-Sarankhola) constituency. Other notable speakers included Upazila Jamaat Ameer Principal Maulana Shahadat Hossain.
