Nadeem Mahmud Moslem, Administrative officer of Dhaka -Tongi -Joydebpir New Railway Line Project has alleged massive irregularities in the construction of the project.

He complained that low-quality construction materials are being used in this project and financial corruption is also going on in this project.

He made these allegations during a sit-in program in front of the National Press Club on Friday morning.

However, Project Director ( PD) Nazneen Ara Kaya claimed to the reporter that his complaint is baseless and said, there is also a complaint of theft against this admin officer.

Nadeem Mahmud said, "Epcons and Capital JV are two Indian companies working on this project. In five years, the work progress of the project has not even reached 30 percent. The bed work done from Tongi to Abdullahpur was not done properly. Excavation of beds, placement of earth and sand, placement of subblush and blush were not carried out as they should have been.

There is no safety in the project work. Despite several notices from the Railways, the two companies did not take any action. I have evidence of corruption and irregularities of officials. 134 people from Bangladesh work in the project. But no one is talking for fear of job.

He also said, "I feel that it is necessary to protest as a citizen of the country." So I stand on the street. So that corruption-irregularity does not happen anymore. Apart from that, I will make a written complaint to the railway minister and ACC in this regard. I will submit the documents to the administration.

Regarding the complaint of admin officer Nadeem, the PD of the project Nazneen Ara Keya told this correspondent , "This man joined the work as an admin officer of the contractor company three to four months ago. He was caught red-handed by the contractor company while stealing some scrap material.

Based on this complaint, he was fired two to three days ago. Since then, I have come to know from talking to the contractors that he is doing all such acts and threatening them.

Apart from that, Nadeem Mahmood Muslim is the admin officer. His job is to see what material has gone into the office. He doesn't understand or see external things.

However, I am regularly monitoring the work of this project. Initially, I can say that there was no corruption in this project, the PD said.

He said that the person making this complaint can show me the complaint with proof if he wants. Then we will take action immediately.
However, the project is progressing well. In all, about 35 percent of the project has been completed.
