Maryam awarded 1st self-reliant woman on Inte'l Women Day by LGED

On the occasion of International Women's Day 2025, the first award was given to Maryam Begum of Rupsha Upazila of Khulna at a ceremony organized by the Local Government Engineering Department.
Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, presented the awards to the winners at the auditorium of LGED, Agargaon in the capital.
49 women were initially selected as self-reliant women for the small-scale water resource development project. Among them, 4 were nominated for the Self-reliant Best Women Award. Among them, Rupsha Maryam Begum won the 1st place.
Maryam has won several awards from various government and non-government organizations including Care International, Ahsania Mission, including the Joyita Award in 2017. This national award is the first in Rupsha Upazila. Maryam is a member of the Jabusa Bill Water Management Project.
