Martyrs of 2024 assets of country, we will not forget them : Maulana Abdul Halim

Md. Mafiz Uddin Sarker, Rangpur

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur Dinajpur Region Director Maulana Abdul Halim referred to the martyrs of July-August 2024 as the assets of the country and the nation and said that we will not forget them. He said this at a gathering organized at the Rangpur Shilpakala Academy auditorium on the occasion of the unveiling of the cover of the memorial book in memory of the martyrs of the July-August Revolution at 10 am on Wednesday in line with the rest of the country. It is noteworthy that a large number of dignitaries of Rangpur as well as members of the martyrs' families were present at the event.

Chief guest Maulana Abdul Halim said, “We are indebted to the martyrs of the Second Liberation War for the opportunity to speak freely in fascism-free Bangladesh today. We will not be able to repay their debt. In this case, Rangpur’s martyr Abu Sayeed is our source of inspiration.”

Referring to the martyrs, he also said that they are national heroes. Their blood will not go in vain. He mentioned the instructions of the Jamaat Ameer and said that on his instructions, we go to the homes of the martyrs killed in the 2024 movement across the country and meet their family members to express our condolences and sympathy. He said that we are with the family members of the martyrs and will be with them in the future, God willing.

The ceremony began with the opening speech of Rangpur Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer and Vice President ATM Azam Khan, the president of the event. Jamaat Central Working Committee member and Rangpur-Dinajpur region assistant director Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Rangpur-Dinajpur region team member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal, Rangpur district Jamaat Ameer Professor Golam Rabbani, Rangpur Metropolitan Secretary Anarul Haque Kajal and local leaders were present on the stage. In addition to the martyr's family members, Rangpur Shibir leaders and anti-discrimination student leaders spoke at the event.

It is mentioned that since the Jamaat Ameer's event was broadcast live in several other venues across Bangladesh, the audience staying at the Rangpur Shilpakala Academy joined the main event at the Press Club in Dhaka immediately after Maulana Abdul Halim's speech.
