Martyr Intellectuals Day observed with due dignity in Khagrachhari

Martyr Intellectuals' Day was celebrated in Khagrachhari by remembering the sacrifices and contributions of the martyred intellectuals with respect.
A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of Martyr Intellectuals Day at the conference room of the Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner's office on Saturday.
The discussion meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md. Shahiduzzaman.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Ratan Khisa, Member of Khagrachhari Hill District Council Md. Shahidul Islam Sumon, District BNP General Secretary MN Abshar and Khagrachari Press Club General Secretary HM Prafulla.
The speakers at the meeting said that from December 10 to December 14, 1971, the occupying Pakistani forces killed first-class intellectuals across the country with the help of local conspirators in order to demoralize Bangladesh.
Even though 53 years have passed since the War of Independence, the people of this country remember their contribution and sacrifice with respect. Martyred Intellectuals Day is a glorious chapter in our history, so with the collective efforts of everyone, their memory can be kept intact.
Government officials from various departments, civil society leaders and journalists were present at the time.
