Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, has said that no one should listen to rumors. Many people may spread rumors surrounding the autumn Durga Puja and through this, communal harmony may be destroyed, so rumors cannot be listened to. Commenting that there is no fear of sabotage in the country surrounding the puja, the state minister said, "Everyone must be vigilant so that no untoward incident occurs."
Speaking as the chief guest at a function to distribute financial donation cheques at various pavilions on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja at the Bandarban District Council Auditorium on Thursday evening.

The event was presided over by Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Ms. Mamaching, and was attended by Deputy Commissioner Nazneen Sultana, Superintendent of Police Ohabul Islam Khandaker, Vice Chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Sheikh Saleh Ahmed, President of Bandarban Central Durga Puja Celebration Council Biplob Das Rajeshwar, General Secretary of Central Durga Temple Rittal Kanti Biswas, various members of the Hill District Council, senior officials of various departments and traditional leaders in charge of the puja mandap.
