Lightning kills farmer in Madan

A farmer named Azizul Islam (49) died due to lightning while fishing in Madan of Netrakona. He is the son of Mojibur Rahman, the former chairman of Jaola village in the upazila.
The deceased's sister-in-law Yusuf Talukder, Madan upazila correspondent of Daily Sangbad, said that at around 10 am on Tuesday, he was fishing in the howr behind the house.
He fell unconscious on the spot as a result of a sudden lightning strike.The family members rescued him and took him to Madan Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Madan police station OC Ujjal Kanti Sarkar said that a farmer died due to lightning. After receiving such news,I confirmed by sending the police to the spot.A wrongful death case will be filed in the police station in this regard.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Shah Alam Mia said that the matter is very sad. The family of the person who died will be financially supported by the upazila administration.
