Largest Sri Krishna idol inaugurated in Palashbari

The newly built Sri Krishna idol has been unveiled at the Sri Sri Radha Govinda and Kali temple in Ramchandrapur (Vrindavanpara) village of Hossainpur union of Palashbari upazila.
The idol of Sri Krishna is said to be the largest in Bangladesh. On this occasion, on Thursday, the Indian Assistant High Commissioner Shri Manoj Kumar was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony in the temple premises as the chief guest.
He and his wife visited the entire temple area, attended the International Gita Mahotsav program and gave a speech. He participated in the luncheon with the invited guests. The Gita was recited at the program by Gopinath Das Brahmachari, who came from Faridpur.
Present at the time were Gaibandha District BNP President 31- Gaibandha-3 constituency candidate Prof Dr. Syed Mainul Hasan Sadiq, Palashbari Police Station OC Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and others. Earlier, the temple founder Shri Haridas Babu and the concerned people welcomed the guests with floral greetings at the entrance of the temple. At this time, a team of Palashbari Police Station took up position in the temple area keeping in mind the overall security.
The work of installing 144 separate idols of gods and goddesses of traditional religions is underway in this temple. The temple, located in a spiritual atmosphere of beautiful architecture, has already gained wide recognition as one of the largest and most important temples in the country.
Devotees and visitors of traditional religions from both inside and outside the country are already coming to pray at this temple every day. Those concerned believe that the opening of the largest idol of Lord Krishna will increase the number of visitors.
