Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed, said that land administration in Bangladesh is a vital sector. In this context, “Land Management Automation” is a timely initiative.

He made these remarks on Thursdsy at a seminar on “Technohaven Co. Ltd is the Project Management Consultant for the Land Management Automation Project” held at the meeting room of the Ministry of Land.

The Senior Secretary said that the Ministry of Land is one of the important departments within the administrative structure of Bangladesh, whose main objective is to make land management modern, transparent, and citizen-friendly. As part of achieving this goal, the government has undertaken the “Land Management Automation Project,” which is a groundbreaking step towards transforming land services into a fully digital platform.

Land is one of the fundamental bases of our economy, society, and culture. However, due to population growth, limited land, complex land records, and long-standing manual administrative processes, various complexities have arisen in land management. To address these issues, modern technology-based land management automation is a revolutionary step, said Senior Secretary Saleh Ahmed.

He further stated that land management automation is a milestone in Bangladesh’s administrative reform. It has not only simplified citizen services but also ensured good governance, transparency, and accountability. Through this technology-driven system, the dream of building a “Developed Bangladesh” has moved one step forward. The land sector has always been significant in the administrative system of Bangladesh and is closely connected with public life. For a long time, land-related services had become a symbol of public suffering due to various complications, disorganized paperwork, broker syndicates, and corruption. In this situation, land management automation or digital transformation has emerged as a groundbreaking initiative.

Senior Secretary Saleh Ahmed said that land administration is a key foundation for a country’s development. Proper direction and expert knowledge are required in activities such as land management, preservation, transfer, surveying, record correction, law enforcement, and delivering land services to citizens’ doorsteps through modern technology. In this context, the role and importance of consultants in the land sector are immense. In addition, in preventing hacking, along with technical knowledge, awareness is also most important. Every user must ensure their own security. Be alert, stay safe.

Later, a discussion meeting was held on the main framework of Section-1 of the Government Performance Monitoring System. At the event, the Senior Secretary said that to ensure efficiency, accountability, and results-based management in the state’s administrative operations, the Government Performance Monitoring System is an important tool. Through this system, the activities of various ministries, departments, directorates, and field administrations are monitored, evaluated, and guided for improvement.

The event was attended by Additional Secretaries of the Ministry of Land  Md. Shariful Islam, Md. Abdur Rouf NDC, Sayma Yunus NDC, Md. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, and other senior officials.
