Kulaura-Brahmanbazar-Shamsernagar road renovation work not completed in 10 months

The renovation work of Brahmanbazar-Shamsernagar road in Moulvibazar district has not been completed even in 10 months. In December of last year, about 1,200 meters of road pavement was removed and covered with stones and sand. As a result, motorists on the road have to suffer in small and big potholes in the rain.

Executive Engineer of Roads and Public Paths (Soaz) District Office Md. Zia Uddin said, it has been raining continuously for several months. That is why the stones and sand rolled on the road are wet. Bitumen cannot be applied until these are completely dry. The work will be completed when the rain stops.

It is known that 3 thousand meters of RCC casting and 1 thousand 400 meters of road from Brahmanbazar in Kulaura of Moulvibazar to Srimangal in Shamsernagar Directorate of Roads and Public Ways (SOAZ) invites tenders for rehabilitation projects with meter bitumen. Under this, 13 culverts and one girder bridge will be constructed. A contractor named Jamil Iqbal was given the responsibility of carrying out the work. The contractor started working in December 2021.

It has been seen on the surface, about 200 meters of Tilagaon Bangla Tila area of Kulaura section of Brahmanbazar-Shamsernagar road, 300 meters in Baghertiki area and 150 meters in Kunimora area of Hajipur have to be removed and covered with sand, soil and stones.
