The newly- formed managing committee chairman of the traditional Nagarkanda Krishnardangi High School in Faridpur, Ishrat Jahan, was accorded a grand and colourful reception on Thursday by the school's teachers, students, guardians, and local residents.

The new chairman, a prominent education enthusiast who holds a Master's degree in Economics, arrived at the school campus at around 11:00 AM. To mark the occasion, the school administration and the local community welcomed her warmly by showering her with flower petals. Notably, this is the first time since the establishment of the school in 1960 that a woman has been appointed to the prestigious position of chairman.

Following the reception, an exchange meeting was organized at the school auditorium, presided over by Chairman Ishrat Jahan herself. Moderated by the school's assistant teacher, Khorshed Alam, the discussion featured speeches from prominent local figures, political leaders, and educationists. Among the key speakers were the President of Faridpur Mohammedan Sporting Club and notable industrialist Mohammad Hanif Mandal, Ramnagar Union Parishad Chairman Md. Kaimuddin Mandal, General Secretary of Faridpur Mohammedan Sporting Club and Faridpur City Youth Dal General Secretary Ali Rezowan Biswas Tarun, and Krishnardangi High School Headmaster Md. Masud Molla. Former Headmaster Madan Gopal Saha, former Assistant Headmaster Sukumar Chandra Saha, Ramnagar Union BNP President Md. Sattar Mandal, Ramnagar Union Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Akter Hossain, former VP of Government Rajendra College Md. Selim, and local social worker Nur Md. Togor Mandal also addressed the gathering. During the ceremony, newly elected teacher-representative Md. Saidul Islam and parent-member Md. Faruk Mandal were also honored with floral greetings and crests.

In her speech as the chief guest, Chairman Ishrat Jahan strongly emphasized upgrading the institution's quality of education. She urged the teaching staff to be more sincere, responsible, and dedicated to their classroom delivery. Alongside academic excellence, she urged students to focus on sports, literature, and cultural activities, expressing her firm belief that the students would prove their capabilities and transform the school into the best educational institution in the district. The event concluded on a high note with a colorful cultural program, wrapping up the grand reception ceremony in a joyful and festive atmosphere.
