Gani Sheikh of Nawa Bazar area of Khankhanapur Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila was shot and killed in Dhaka during the ongoing movement demanding quota reform

Krishak Dal Central Committee Vice President and District BNP Senior Joint Convener Adv. Md: Aslam Mia went to his house along with the leaders and activists of the district BNP to express condolences to the family of that Gani Sheikh.

On Friday (August 23) afternoon, several hundreds of BNP leaders and activists went to Gani Sheikh's house in the new market area of Rajbari district. During this time, he consoled his wife Lucky Akhtar, son Alamin, daughter Jannat and expressed his condolences.

Krishak Dal Central Committee Vice-President and District BNP Joint Convenor Add: Md Aslam Mia said, Rajbari district BNP district leaders along with our condolences to Gani's family. The family member said, Gani Sheikh did not die, he was martyred. He died fighting for the country. We will always stand by Gani Sheikh's family.

Apart from condolence, he promised to carry 50 thousand taka in cash and all the money of his kulkhani to his family and also announced to name Shaheed Gani Sheikh Chatwar in Goland Mor area of Rajbari Sadar Upazila.

Meanwhile, District BNP Convener Add. Liaquat Ali Babu, Senior Joint Convenor and Central Farmers Party Vice-President Add. Mia, District VolunteerParty President Mostafizur Rahman Likhan, District Chhatra Dal Convener Ariful Islam Roman, Member Secretary Md Shahinur Rahman Shahin, Sadar Upazila Chhatra Dal President Sohel Pramanik, General Secretary Paris Hossain and others were present.

It is to be noted that last Friday 19th around 9 am, he left his Gopi Bagh Uttar Badda home and was going to his work place, Hotel Six Seasons, Gulshan Road No. 6. On the way to Gulshan Shahzadpur Banshtala in the middle of the hotel, he was shot dead in the ongoing agitation demanding reform of quota system in government jobs.
