Khaleda Zia to attend a rally after seven years

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will attend a rally organised by the Jatiotabadi Muktijoddha Dal on 21 December after a long hiatus of almost seven years.
This is the first time the BNP Chairperson is going to attend a rally after 2017.
Begum Khaleda Zia will be present and speak as the chief guest in the programme to be held at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center in the capital marking the Great Victory Day.
According to party sources, Standing Committee Member Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat met BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her residence in Gulshan on Saturday. They invited Khaleda Zia to attend the rally as the chief guest. She initially agreed to attend in the rally. In addition, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met Khaleda Zia at night.
Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, said, "If Allah keeps Madam physically healthy, she can go to the rally." According to sources in the BNP media cell, Khaleda Zia last addressed a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on 12 November 2017, marking Revolution and Solidarity Day.
