Jute Day celebrated in C'nawabganj

National Jute Day was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with a discussion meeting and rally. The day was celebrated on Wednesday (March 6) jointly organized by the district administration and jute department.

Speakers in the meeting emphasized on increasing the use and demand of jute products. On the occasion of the day, a rally was taken out in front of the DC office in the morning.

It circumnavigates various important roads of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Debendra Nath Uraon was the chief guest in the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Anisur Rahman presided over the meeting.

Heroic freedom fighter Advocate Abdus Samad, Acting District Jute Development Officer Ajit Kumar Roy, Additional Deputy Director (Grains) of District Agriculture Extension Department KM Kawshar Hossain, Nawab Auto Rice Mill owner Akbar Ali, jute product trader Salim Reza and others spoke in the discussion meeting.

In the discussion meeting, the speakers called for increasing the versatile use of jute products and said that jute and jute products should be made known to the present generation.

The environment must be protected from the harmful effects of polythene. Farmers should be encouraged more in jute cultivation. Everyone should work together to increase the use and demand of jute products.
