A group of fish farmers from Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar visited Srimangal Upazila of the district to exchange their experience in fish farming.

Organized by the Juri Upazila Fisheries Officer's office, a group of fish farmers reached the Paragon fish farm in Srimangal on Wednesday morning and were welcomed by the farm authorities.

It is learnt that this experience exchange visit was held at Paragon Fish Farm of Srimangal Upazila under the Community Based Climate Resilient Fisheries and Aquaculture Development in Bangladesh project organized by Directorate of Fisheries Bangladesh and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations under the organization of Upazila Fisheries Officer Office. In this visit, 20 male and female fish farmers of the CBO of the upazila participated in this experience exchange.

Under the chairmanship of Juri Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Moniruzzaman, the chief guest was District Fisheries Officer Md. Shahnewaz Siraji. Srimangal Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Farazul Kabir and Field Coordinator of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Ziaul Haque was the special guests.

Paragon Fish Farm authorities explained their detailed activities to the CBO members of Juri. Observing everything, the members are highly motivated and they themselves express hope for future success.

Abdul Samad, a fish farmer who participated in the tour, said that it was a good experience to see Paragon fish farm in Srimangal. We want the people of Juri to be self-sufficient by farming like this.'

Srimangal Upazila Fisheries Officer. Md. Farazul Kabir said, 20 men and women joined to exchange experience for Juri fish farming. The farmer has got a good idea about modern technology in his own farm for fish farming, tilapia, hatchery-nursery. Using this experience will bring them much success in the future in fish farming.

District Fisheries Officer. Md. Shahnewaz Siraji said, "We have brought 20 fish farmers to experience fish farming. The fishermen will be benefited a lot by this kind of experience exchange tour and also the fish farmers will be more interested in fish farming after seeing this farm.
