Journalists Shyamal Dutta and Mozammel Babu detained

Journalists Shyamal Dutta and Mozammel Haque Babu have been detained in Dobaura border area under Mymensingh district.
Local residents detained them on Sunday night. They are currently at the Dobaura Police Station in Mymensingh.
Along with them, Ekattor Television's senior reporter Mahbubur Rahman and driver Selim were also detained.
Locals said that Shyamal Dutta and Mozammel Babu were heading towards the border in a private car.
Dobaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Chan Mia said that the local people detained them from the border area and handed them over to police around 6:00 am. The four detained individuals are currently in police custody.
Shyamal Dutta is the Editor of Daily Bhorer Kagoj and the General Secretary of the National Press Club. Mozammel Babu was the Managing Director of Ekattor TV.
Since the fall of the autocratic government led by Sheikh Hasina, journalists Shyamal Dutta and Mozammel Haque Babu have gone into hiding.
