Upazila Nirbahi Officer ( UNO) Ashraful Alam Russel is going door to door to provide food and winter clothes to the hungry and cold-stricken poor people in Jhenaigati, Sherpur.

Immediately after he joined the upazila, on October 4, incessant rains and torrential downpours from the upstream caused extensive damage to houses, paddy fields, trees and vegetable gardens in seven unions of Jhenaigati Upazila.

Hundreds of mud houses were destroyed, leaving hundreds of poor and helpless families in extreme distress. Countless people are living in subhuman conditions due to starvation and malnutrition. Many of the homeless families have not yet been able to move. Since then, UNO Ashraful Alam Russel has been going door to door to helpless, poor and starving families day and night, in addition to administrative activities. When he hears about starving people, it is his daily routine to run there. The mountain stream has not yet subsided. As soon as the mountain stream recedes, the winter season begins again. His relentless humanitarian activities do not stop. He himself searches for the helpless and cold-stricken poor family members and hands over food, village food and winter clothes to them. Due to this relentless activity of UNO Ashraful Alam Russel, the creative people of the upazila and various social organizations see him as a peddler of humanity. He hands over food and winter clothes to the helpless and cold-stricken poor families late at night.

n this continuation, on Sunday (February 16) afternoon, UNO Ashraful Alam Russel handed over food and winter clothes to 30 helpless and poor family members of Gomra Guchchagram of Nalkura Union of the upazila. The poor family members are overjoyed to receive this assistance.
