Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has said that his party men are taking part in the national election in a bid to protect the party’s potential extinction.
“We are participating in the election so that the Jatiya Party is not vanished. Furthermore, we want to ensure continuity of the party and secure presence in the parliament,” Quader said this after inaugurating his election campaign in Rangpur-3 parliamentary constituency on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Quader, accompanied by leaders and activists of his party, visited Palli Nibash and paid respects at the grave of his elder brother, HM Ershad, also founder chairman of the party.
Claiming that he does not reach any compromise with any party ahead of the election, the JaPa chairman said, “An artificial crisis is being created to split the party but I think it will be impossible.”
He underscored the importance of ensuring transparency in the election and expressed unwavering confidence in the Election Commission, saying that his party is participating in the election with full faith in the electoral process.
