Jamaat secy gen shown arrested for subversion

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar was shown arrested in a subversion case on Thursday.
The arrest came after Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury had allowed a police plea in this regard.
Having held in a case lodged under anti-terrorism act, Parwar was produced before the court and shown arrested in the subversion case filed with Paltan Police Station on 2018.
However, the court fixed May 7 to pass order on 10-day remand petition filed by police for further interrogation.
Earlier, on September 6, 2021, police had arrested nine people including Parwar from his flat at a residential area in the capital. Police filed the case under anti-terrorism act with capital's Bhatara Police Station on the same night.
