Jamaat Nayeb Ameer Mujibur Rahman's call to build public opinion for upcoming elections
Asasuni (Satkhira) Correspondent
Calling upon the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to form public opinion for the upcoming elections, the vice-Amir of the party, Professor Mujibur Rahman, said that the country became independent in 1971 with the aim of ensuring people's right to rice and voting. But we did not get the right to vote for the last 54 years.
Mujibur Rahman said, the result of the anti-discrimination student movement was August 5. For the second time since that day, I have been given the opportunity to speak freely. The oppressors fled in the successful student movement. But oppression in the country has not stopped yet. If the law of Allah is introduced in the country, oppression, torture and harassment will stop. Justice will be established in the country. Men, women and youth learn to give life. The people of this country have learned to wake up. The awakened people do not accept the lordship of anyone.
He said these while addressing the chief guest at the Jamaat-e-Islami workers' conference organized by Asasuni Upazila Jamaat at Asasuni Government Secondary School ground in Satkhira on Wednesday at 4 pm.
The chief guest also said that there is no electoral system in Bangladesh. The people of the previous government are still sitting in many places. They should be removed. Those who took away voting rights, shot and killed people, they should be tried first. First trial, then reforms, then elections. I will say to those who are in a hurry for elections, do you want elections like before? Or want an acceptable election at the end of the necessary reforms? He said, first reforms then elections.
Upazila Jamaat Ameer Abu Mucha Tarikuzzaman Tushar spoke as a special guest in the conference held as a special guest. District Jamaat Nabe Ameer Sheikh Nurul Huda, District Secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman, Assistant Secretary Mahbubul Alam, District Working Council Member Ad.
