Diplomatic Correspondent

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has demanded effective action to stop communal activities of religious conversion of religious minorities in the name of dawa. ISKCON general secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari made this demand in a statement sent to the media yesterday.

In the statement, referring to an organization named "Bangladesh Jamiyate Ahle Hadith", it is said, "The president and secretary general of this organization is Professor Dr. Abdullah Farooq and Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Khan Madani has been circulating a special notice on social media for quite some time. In order to convert people of different religions, according to the new decision of their party, an organization named 'Islami Dawah Institute' under the direction of Mufti is trying to convert Hindus in the name of Dawat The statement also noted that some Facebook groups have discussions about converting Hindu women into love traps.

ISKCON feels that the religious minorities of the country, especially the Hindu families, are living in deep anxiety and worry due to the continuation of such communal hateful conspiracies and inciting campaigns and conversion missions in various social media including pamphlets.

In the statement, ISKCON demanded the enactment of a minority protection law and immediate action to stop these heinous communal atrocities. Apart from this, ISKCON has demanded the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure the arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in this provocative act.
