International Women's Day celebrated in Rangamati

A large rally and discussion meeting was held in Rangamati on the occasion of International Women's Day with the theme "Digital technology and innovation, gender discrimination will be eradicated".

On Wednesday (March 8) morning, organized by Rangamati District Administration and Women's Affairs Department, a colorful procession started from the Happy Junction area of Rangamati city, went around the various roads of the city and ended in front of the District Commissioner's office. Later, a discussion was held in the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.

Speakers in the meeting said that to build a smart Bangladesh, women should be taken forward. Gender equality and good governance cannot be achieved without the effective participation of women. Therefore, to ensure the protection of women from violence and torture, everyone must take multifaceted initiatives including raising awareness.

The event was presided over by Rangamati District Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman.

Among others, former Women Reserved Constituency Member of Parliament Feroza Begum Chinu, Nasrin Sultana, Deputy Director (Acting) District Women Directorate Anuka Khisa, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Najma Binte Amin, Sadar Upazila Parishad Women Vice Chairman Nasreen Islam Mahila, women's leader Tuku Talukder and leaders of various women's organizations were present on the occasion.
