With the slogan "We are united against corruption for the purpose of development, peace and security", various programs were organised on the International Anti-Corruption Day organized by the Anti-Corruption Committee in collaboration with the Patuakhali district administration.

The program of the International Anti-Corruption Day was inaugurated on Saturday at 9 am with the national anthem, hoisting of the national flag and hoisting of the flag of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

District Anti-Corruption Committee Vice President Mr. Shirin Nahar presided over the opening ceremony. Deputy Commissioner Md. Noor Qutubul Alam was present as the chief guest, Superintendent of Police Md. Saidul Islam, ACC Deputy Director Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury, Civil Surgeon Md. SM Kabir Hasan, Patuakhali District Press Club President Syed Enayetur Rahman General Secretary M Nazim Uddin etc.

The speakers at the opening ceremony said that ACC is working regularly on two issues. One is anti-corruption and the other is anti-corruption. Also discourages participation in social activities by ensuring punishment against those involved in corruption cases.

Also Anti Corruption Committee is working to create public awareness about the evils of corruption.

After the inauguration ceremony, a huge human chain was held at the foot of the Bangabandhu Wall in front of Sonali Bank in the city.

After the human chain, a discussion meeting was held at Patuakhali District Commissioner's Durbar Hall on the context of International Anti-Corruption Day and the need to create a corruption-free society.

Patuakhali district administration, officers of ACC, district anti-corruption committee, leaders of Sanak and TIB, government officials of various departments, journalists of print and electronic media were present in the discussion meeting.
