Interim govt to remain as long as necessary for reforms, elections: Asif Nazrul

Adviser on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Prof Dr Asif Nazrul said the interim government would remain in power for as long as needed, balancing the desire for reforms and the desire for fresh elections.
He said this in response to a question from journalists at the secretariat on Saturday morning.
How long will the interim government stay - in response to the question of the journalists, he said, 'There has been no talk about its duration yet. One thing Kindly should keep in mind is that the political parties will expect elections as soon as possible, and the common people of this country will expect this government to do some urgent reforms. , Department of Justice, Anti-Corruption Commission and various state institutions and even public universities have been tried as a way to torture the people.
We have received some good services from all these institutions. There are some good people in these institutions. said, but the whole system was set up in such a way, these institutions became a terror for people who had dissenting opinions, people who practiced fundamental rights. People want this reform. We will stay as long as necessary, balancing the desire for reform with the desire for new elections. Not more, not less.
Dr. Asif Nazrul said, 'Personally if I say I miss my university teaching life, I miss my open free life. My personal opinion is that as soon as possible I can finally go back to my life, which I personally enjoy much more. So this is my personal opinion. But from a place of responsibility we will try to fulfill the responsibility for which we have come here and our other advisors.''
He also said, 'You know the role of the Election Commission. If overhauling is not done here, then the government that comes in the future will use these institutions in that way. Our past experience is not good news.
