Int'l Women's Day celebrated in Faridpur with colourful arrangements

A colourful rally and discussion meeting were organized in Faridpur on the occasion of International Women's Day-2025 under the joint initiative of the District Administration and the Department of Women's Affairs.
On Saturday morning, a rally started from the Deputy Commissioner's office premises and circled the main roads of the city. Various educational institutions, government and private organizations, NGOs and ordinary citizens participated in the rally.
After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the Deputy Commissioner's conference room. Faridpur Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Yasin Kabir presided over the meeting, and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Mollah addressed the meeting as the chief guest.
During this time, Deputy Director of the District Women's Affairs Department Masuda Hossain, Faridpur Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Israt Jahan, Founder of FDA Md. Azaharul Islam, Executive Director of SDC Kazi Ashraful Hasan, President of the Women's Council Professor Shipra Roy, Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department Sheikh Md. Hashem Ali, President of Rangin Suta Sonia Sultana spoke.
A total of 26 lakh 39 thousand 700 taka checks were given to 284 women in 5 categories at the event.
Government and private organizations, NGO representatives and local dignitaries were present at the event.
