Int'l Crisis Group CEO holds meeting with Ali Riaz

A meeting was held between National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Dr Ali Riaz and President and CEO of the world's leading conflict resolution organisation 'International Crisis Group' Dr Comfort Ero today.
The meeting was held at the meeting room of the National Consensus Commission office at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar here, according to a press release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the National Consensus Commission, Paban Chowdhury.
The meeting discussed various issues including the progress of the work of the National Consensus Commission, the release added.
Speaking in the meeting, Dr Ali Riaz, also the Constitutional Reform Commission Chief, said that discussions have begun with political parties to create a national consensus on reforms.
The commission will hold dialogues with at least four parties before Eid, he added.
Discussions will also be held with the remaining parties in phases after the Eid holidays, he said.
Dr Ali Riaz also said letters in the form of spreadsheets have already been sent to 38 political parties to seek specific opinions on the important recommendations of various commissions.
The commission has received opinions from 16 political parties so far, he added.
Director of Program (Asia) at International Crisis Group Pierre Prakash and Senior Consultant at International Crisis Group Thomas Kean attended the meeting, among others.
