Independence Day celebrated in Baniachong

Baniachong upazila administration celebrated the great Independence Day-2024 with due dignity.
On Tuesday, the day began auspiciously with a 31-gun salute at sunrise at the memorial. On this occasion, the national flag was officially hoisted in the morning, physical exercise exhibition by the students of various educational institutions, wreath laying at the Makalkandi memorial, reception of the brave freedom fighters after the sports event and award distribution, discussion meeting on the historical leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation and the development of the country was held.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mahbubur Rahman presided over it. Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Abul Kashem Chowdhury was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting moderated by Palli Acumin Bank officer Sudip Dev. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Saiful Islam, Upazila Awami League President Bir Muktijoddha Amir Hossain Master, Officer In-Charge (OC) Md. Delwar Hossain, Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculture Md. Enamul Haque, Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary and UP Chairman Abdul Ahad Mia were present as special guests.
Among others, brave freedom fighter Mohammad Ali Momin, brave freedom fighter Sheikh Namir Ali, brave freedom fighter Md Manzil Mia, former general secretary of Baniachong Model Press Club Shibbir Ahmad Arju and others were present.
The brave freedom fighters present and the children of the late freedom fighters were given cash by the upazila administration.
