Incentive programme for Aush farming launched in Kaukhali

Free Aush incentive programme was inaugurated among the small and marginal farmers at Kaukhali
This year, agricultural incentive rice seeds and fertilizers will be distributed among 2,200 farmers in Kaukhali. On this occasion, Upazila Executive Officer Meher Nigar Sultana was the chief guest at the opening ceremony organized at Upazila Agriculture Office on Thursday morning.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Soma Rani Das presided over it under the supervision of Assistant Agriculture Officer Pabrit Kumar Roy. Kaukhali Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Md. Mostafizur Rahman UP Chairman Laikuzzaman Talukdar Mintu, Upazila Jatiya Party JP General Secretary Manjurul Mahfuz Payal, Kaukhali Press Club General Secretary Tariqur Rahman Tarek, Joint General Secretary Nazrul Islam Sabuj were also present.
At this time, the chief guest said in his speech that the Hon'ble Prime Minister advised all those who received incentives to bring every inch of land under cultivation to cultivate Aush paddy in bunches.
This year, the Directorate of Agricultural Extension has set a target of about 3,365 hectares of Aush paddy cultivation in Kaukhali.
Under the incentive, a farmer received 5 kg of seed, 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer for growing Aush paddy.
