Moheshkhali Municipality recently protested against the seizure of the land purchased by Gorakghata High School of Moheshkhali, Cox's Bazar by a neighbor named Nezam Uddin and false allegations against the school's teachers and managing committee members along with the mayor of Moheshkhali Municipality Alhaj Maqchud Mia, the donor member of the school.

A human chain and protest meeting were held in Upazila Parishad square on Saturday.

Gorakghata High School Headmaster Srishti Ram Dey spoke at the rally, school teachers Sarzia Jahan Sathi, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor, Mahbub Alam, Moin Uddin, Sirajul Mostafa, Jannatul Mawa, Rita Rani Dey, Jahangir Alam and Assistant Headmaster Abdur Rahim spoke.

The assistant headmaster of the school complained that after the establishment of the school in 1997, the former upazila chairman Abu Bakkar Siddique purchased the 10th century place from Maulana Nezam Uddin Helali's wife Ainun Nahar on behalf of Gorakghata High School.

As Ainun Nahar died before the registry of the purchased land, her husband Maulana Nezam Uddin is threatening to take possession of the land by force. In this regard, this human chain was held to protest against the false case and complaint filed by Alhaj Maqchud Miah, the donor member of Maulana Nezam Uddin School and Mayor of Moheshkhali Municipality, who tried to occupy his house by force and molested his daughter.

The speakers demanded his immediate arrest and exemplary punishment. In this regard, Sukanta Chakraborty, OC of Moheshkhali police station, said that the culprit will not be spared and will be arrested soon. Accused Maulana Nezam Uddin said, showing the influence of power, they are trying to take my place by force. I demand a fair trial from the administration.
