A human chain was organized by Kalia Press Club to protest the attack on journalist Syed Sajibur Rahman Sajib, District Correspondent of Somoy TV in Narail.

The human chain was addressed by Golam Morshed, Upazila Correspondent of Daily Dinkal, Md. Babar Ali, District Correspondent of Bangla Vision Digital and Daily Janmabhoomi, Rashed Kamal of Daily Ajker Patrika, Hachibur Rahman of Daily Janabani, Amanat Islam Parvez of Asian TV, among others.

Journalists Md. Jihadul Islam, Moniruzzaman Chowdhury, Md. Bablu Mallick, Khairul Alam Chowdhury, Russell Mollah, Mamun Mollah, Sheikh Ujjal Chowdhury Jewel Rana, and others were present.

The speakers said that the attack on journalists shows that the media is not safe at present. The attackers of journalist Syed Sajibur Rahman Sajib must be arrested within 24 hours and brought to justice.

Attacks on journalists have increased in recent times, it is urgent to stop it. If attacks on journalists are not stopped, the media will face threats. At this time, the media workers present in the human chain strongly condemned and protested the attack.

It is worth noting that on December 30, on his way back from Lohagarh to Narail, miscreants hacked and seriously injured journalist Syed Sajibur Rahman Sajib, the Narail correspondent of Somoy TV, on the Sheikh Russell Bridge in Narail town at around 11:30 pm. At that time, locals and police rescued him and took him to Sadar Hospital. After primary treatment, he was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
