Human chain demanding steps to break business syndicate in Ctg

Chittagong Bureau

The leaders and activists of the anti-discrimination student movement have demanded to bring relief to the common people by breaking the merchant syndicate formed during the Awami League period.

Besides, they also demanded the arrest of the policemen involved in the killing of journalists and students who were friends of fascism who took a stand against the mass coup.

They made these demands from the human chain and protest march organized in front of the Chittagong Press Club on Tuesday afternoon.

The leaders and activists of the anti-discrimination student movement have also warned that if they are not paid, they will go back to the movement like the July revolution.

The coordinators of the student movement in Manabbandhan said that for the last 15 years, a looter business syndicate has been created to blame for fascism. They are now increasing the prices of daily commodities without any reason to endanger the interim government. They demanded to stop the syndicate's activities immediately.

The coordinators said that some journalists of Chittagong tried to destroy the movement of the students by taking a stand against the uprising. They have acted directly as police sources in addition to publishing misleading news. Because of them, many protesting students were killed.

Russell Ahmed, the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, said that some of the fascist government's allies had called a rally in front of the press club and lied that the leaders and workers of the anti-discrimination student movement had cut the leg veins of the Chhatra League leaders and activists. I demand the government to take action against such brokers named journalists.Coordinator Ridwan Siddiqui said that those overzealous policemen who have committed such heinous incidents like shooting and killing students protesting for their just demands without provocation should be identified and punished accordingly.

Rezaur Rahman, coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, said that the enemies of the fallen dictatorship are still dreaming of revolution using the media.
I request the interim government to accept this demand of the students and start the process of trial of the culprits as soon as possible. '

Coordinator Neela Afroz said, if the demands of commodity price control, banning of Chhatra League, trial of journalists who are friends of fascism are not met, the students will start again like the July revolution.

Presided over by Russell Ahmed, Central Coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Yasir Arefin Chowdhury, Omar Farooq Sagar, Zubair Alam, Rezaur Rahman, Nila Afroz, Safayet Hossain, AKM Istiaq Samrat spoke.

The leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement in the rally also said that the correct information about the casualties in the Chittagong movement was not published in the media due to the fact that the friends of fascism were playing tricks on various important media of the country.

It is the responsibility of those journalists who are friends of fascism not to spread the correct information about Chittagong's movement and struggle. If the media authorities do not identify and take action against the journalists who are guilty of fascism, we will again take the field against them.
