
Human chain by medicine traders in Panchbibi with 4-point demands

Medicine traders in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat have organized a human chain program with a 4-point demand under the banner of Bangladesh Chemists and Druggists Association. This program was held at the initiative of Panchbibi pharmacy owners.
In line with the centrally announced program across the country, a human chain was held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Panchbibi Panchmatha Square, organized by the Bangladesh Chemists and Druggists Association, Panchbibi Municipal Branch.
At that time, the present traders raised their demands which include increase in medicine sales commission, quick Return and Replacement of Expired Medicines: A call has been made to pharmaceutical companies to promptly take back and replace expired medicines, stopping of supplying medicines to unlicensed Pharmacies, gvernment-determined medicine prices: Due to the abnormal increase in medicine prices, a demand has been made for the government to determine the prices of medicines.
Participants in the human chain strongly called upon the government to fulfill their demands. They stated that if their demands are not implemented soon, they will be compelled to go for a larger movement.
Present at the event were Hedayetul Islam, President of Bangladesh Chemists and Druggists Association Panchbibi Municipal Committee and Proprietor of Bondhon Pharmacy; Faisal Ahmed, Senior Vice-President of the same committee and Proprietor of Ma Medicine; Senior Vice-President Gausul Azam (Sabuj); Vice-President Abul Majid; Nazmul Islam, President of Awlai Union; Aktaruzzaman, President of Bagjana Union; Md. Masud, Vice-President of Dharanji Union; Abul Majid, President of Kusumba Union, along with medicine traders from all walks. They have drawn the government’s attention to resolve the problems faced by medicine traders.
