A human chain and protest rally were held in Kathalia of Jhalokathi demanding the withdrawal of a false and harassing case filed against Md. Anwar Hossain Sagar, Joint General Secretary of the Upazila BNP, and seven others. On Sunday  at 10 AM, the human chain was organized in front of the traditional Chingrakhali Miajee Darbar Sharif under the initiative of the Darbar Sharif itself.After the human chain, a protest meeting was held. Among the speakers were Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary and Chairman of Abdul Jabbar Miajee Trust, Md. Anwar Hossain Sagar; President of Miajee Darbar Sharif, Maulana Md. Muniruzzaman Miajee; and Principal of Chingrakhali Senior Madrasa, Maulana Md. Ruhul Amin, among others.Speakers stated that Abdul Jalil Miajee, an associate of the Awami League’s Shahjahan Omar and a key accused in the July murder case, is harassing Md. Anwar Hossain Sagar (Chairman of Abdul Jabbar Miajee Trust and Joint General Secretary of Upazila BNP), Maulana Md. Muniruzzaman Miajee (President of the Darbar Sharif), and other officials of the Darbar Sharif through false cases.

Expressing his frustration, Md. Anwar Hossain Sagar said that no vandalism had occurred at the Miajee Darbar Sharif. The false case was filed solely to harass them with ill intent, and he strongly protested the case.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) at the police station, Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil Miajee, a resident of Chingrakhali village under the Sadar Union of the Upazila, currently resides in Dhaka with his family. On January 31, under the leadership of Anwar Hossain Sagar, 20–25 individuals allegedly broke the boundary wall of Miajee Darbar Sharif and caused significant damage. Three months after the incident, on April 27, a case was filed at the police station naming Anwar Hossain and seven others as accused.

On Thursday evening, police arrested Anwar Hossain Sagar and two others from Bottola Bazar of the upazila. They were released on bail the next day by the court.
