
How children growing up in country’s largest prostitute village Daulatdia

Daulatdia in Rajbari district has developed the largest brothel in the country after the independence.
As per the government statistics , about sixteen hundred prostitutes have been living in about three hundred houses here. There are also floating prostitutes. These huge prostitutes have been devastated in the last one and a half year due to lockdown. Amid uncertainty of them how the children are growing up here?
Where life is passing through dirty environment, the new borns have to stay in dark rooms. Growing up in that dark alley after birth, there in . It is heard, sometimes alcohol is poured in the mouth instead of milk in childhood. The story of life is just full of darkness. Where children grow up watching colorful drinks on a colorful night.
At the age when children sit on their mother's lap and fall asleep listening to sleep songs, many have to take shelter in a in a house outside the brothels, if the mother's economic condition is good.
After having parents, one has to stay without guardians. It has psychological effects in childhood. At the age when the book is supposed to be in their hands, the children of the largest brothels of the country have become addicted to horrible drugs like death by darkening the future. Parents do not have time to see themselves, how cruel life is there for them.

There are about twenty liquor spots or dance bars inside the Daulatdia prostitute village to entertain the customers. There is a dance hall for little girls. Mr. Ataur Rahman Manju, Coordinator of Mukti Mahila Samity , a non-governmental development organization working with women and children in the brothels , said that in this dark environment of the brothels , the normal growth and development of a child is just a dream here.
However, we have been carrying out various trainings for the neglected children and adolescents of the prostitutes villages to grow up in a normal way, to develop their education regularly, to take part in cultural activities. The number of children aged 1-18 in Daulatdia prostitutes village is 628, out of which 294 are males and 332 are females. Of these, Asak is the one who carries food for 18 people. Here 50 children live 24 hours a day, all their expenses are borne by the organization. Which has been funded by various charities.
Even then, the number of child sex workers is increasing in Daulatdia
The number of child sex workers in the country's largest prostitute village at Daulatdia in Rajbari is increasing day by day. A class of middlemen has formed here under the umbrella of influential rural landlords. The cycle brings ordinary girl children from different parts of the country to the brothels in various ways with the dust in the eyes of the law. Then the mothers here bring their children to this profession in the hope of making more profit. They don't listen to anyone. There are about fifty sex workers here who are both mothers and daughters involved in this profession.
According to the country's customary law, forcing a minor to engage in sex work is strictly prohibited, but local law enforcement agencies are not taking notice. At present about five thousand sex workers live in this village. Among them are more than five hundred child and adolescent sex workers.
Visiting all these children in the children's club of Goaland Daulatdia Mukti Mahila Samiti, it is seen that all these children from one to six years of age are being brought up.
Besides, Safe Home, Payakat is working with the children of the sex village. Since then, the number of new sex workers has been increasing day by day in this village. Children are addicted to drugs, they are involved in all sorts of heinous acts inside the prostitute village, including terrorism.
Morzina Begum, director of Mukti Mahila Samiti, said, "Since 1997, we have been working with sex workers in the sex villages and conducting awareness-raising activities with various trainings to make them aware." During the coronation period, we helped them with the help of various donor agencies.
He added that since then, some mothers have left their children in the sex trade and teenagers are getting involved in this profession, including drug use. We are trying to bring them back to a beautiful life.
