Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu observed in Myanmar with due fervour

Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar celebrated the historic 'Homecoming Day' of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday (10 January) with due fervour.
On the occasion of the day, a garlanding of the portrait of the Father of the Nation, speech reading, and discussion were held.
Before beginning his speech, Ambassador Md. Monowar Hossain paid deep respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his martyred family members, three million brave martyrs of the Great Liberation War, valiant freedom fighters, and mothers and sisters who lost their respect.
The ambassador referred to Bangabandhu as the undisputed leader of Bangladesh's 23-year-long independence struggle and the maker of independent Bengal.
He discussed the leading role of Bangabandhu in the global context with the leaders of different countries who led the war of freedom.
Ambassador Hossain highlighted Bangabandhu's diplomatic wisdom and political foresight in the international arena. On this day in 1972, the return of the Father of the Nation to independent Bangladesh, he said that the joy of the achievement and victory of the Bengali nation had been fulfilled.
The ambassador also said, “Bangabandhu's steadfast leadership in the reconstruction of war-torn, independent Bangladesh has guided our country on the right path of development."
He called upon all expatriates to take an active part in building the 'Golden Bangla' of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The discussion meeting organized on the occasion of the day was attended by businessmen, United Nations-international organisations, Bangladeshi citizens working in multinational companies, members of the Bangladesh community, and embassy officials and employees.
