Hefazat demands justice for Saiful’s murder, ISKCON ban

Staff Correspondent

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh today (Nov 27) demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the individuals responsible for public prosecutor Saiful Islam Alif murder.

Amir Allama Muhibullah Babunagari and Secretary General Maulana Sajedur Rahman have also strongly condemned the killing and claimed that the killers are connected to ISKCON supporters.

In a joint statement, the Hefazat leaders said, "Saiful Islam Alif was brutally murdered by the ISKCON members and supporters following the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das. This attack is an act of terrorism and an assault on justice."

They further alleged that the unrest in the country was incited with the support of India.

"We believe this chaos was created as part of a conspiracy backed by India. The government must arrest those involved in this heinous act and ensure justice for the martyr Alif," the statement read.

The leaders also demanded the government take steps to ban ISKCON in Bangladesh, accusing it of engaging in terrorist activities.

Hefazat leaders called on the government to take strict action against those who collaborate with India's alleged conspiracies to create unrest in Bangladesh. "The government must uphold the rule of law and set an example by punishing those responsible for this anarchy," they said.
