Heavy rain forecast for three days in four divisions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that there may be three days of heavy rain in four divisions in mid-September due to the influence of the active seasonal winds.
The 72-hour forecast from 10am on Thursday morning said that parts of the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may see heavy (44-88 mm of rain in a 24-hour period) to very heavy rain (over 88 mm in 24 hours).
The Met Office has also warned of landslides in some hilly areas of the Chattogram Division due to the rain.
On Wednesday morning, the BMD had warned of heavy rain in the Chattogram, Sylhet, and Barishal divisions for the following three days.
The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.
All fishing boats and trawlers are urged to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
