Hasina, 3 ex-CECs sued in sedition case in Ctg
Chattogram Correspondent
A sedition case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and three former Chief Election Commissioners (CECs) in Chattogram for organising illegal and fraudulent elections.
Ekramul Karim, former general secretary of the Chattogram City BNP, filed the case with the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate-6 Kazi Shariful Haque on Wednesday.
The court accepted the case and ordered the police to investigate.
The members of parliament, including Obaidul Quader, who have served three terms, have also been accused in the case.
Kofil Uddin, lawyer of the plaintiff, said "In the last three elections, many popular leaders, including the opposition, did not participate. Ordinary people were unable to exercise their vote. In the three elections held at great expense, administration officials, including the commissioners, violated the constitution. For this, a case of sedition and fraud has been filed."
