Grandfather hacked to death for protesting against eve-teasing of grandson

Terrorists hacked and killed Nana Azgar for protesting against eve-teasing of his granddaughter in Singair, Manikganj. The deceased Azgar was a resident of Raydakshin village in Joymantop union of Singair police station. He was a grocery shopkeeper by profession. Nana Azgar was hacked and left bleeding on Tuesday (evening. Later, when he was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar around 10 pm, the doctor declared him dead.
Local residents said that Al Amin, a drug dealer and son of the deceased Kalu Paramanik, harassed his granddaughter, a third-grade student, on her way to and from school. On Tuesday, Nana Azgar filed a written complaint with the police station. Later that night, the police arrived and went to look for Al Amin. Enraged by the news of the police's arrival, a group of terrorists led by Al Amin hacked Azgar to death on Tuesday evening with machetes and knives, including his hands, feet, head and other parts of his body.
Dr. Rakib Al Mehdi Shuvo, a doctor in the emergency department at Enam Medical College Hospital, said the patient was brought to the hospital dead. He said there were injury marks on various parts of his body.
The deceased's son Liaquat said, "My father's body is currently at Dhaka's Suhrawardy Hospital for autopsy. Although the attackers have been identified, the police have asked not to reveal their names to the media in the interest of arrest."
Savar Model Police Station OC Jewel Miah said that after receiving reports of a man named Azgar being hacked to death, the police went to the hospital, prepared an autopsy report, and handed over the body to Singair Police Station after completing the legal process.
Singair Police Station OC JOM Tawfiq Azam said that two cases have been filed at the police station in this incident. A case was filed at the police station on Tuesday against Al Amin for the crime of eve-teasing, and a separate murder case has been filed against five other people, including Al Amin, in the murder case. The police are working to arrest those involved in the incident.
