Graduation parade of 4th batch held at Pabna Marine Academy

The graduation parade of the fourth batch of students at Pabna Marine Academy was held on Sunday morning.
Shipping Secretary Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury took the salute as the chief guest and presented certificates of appreciation to the meritorious students at the beautiful graduation parade at the parade ground of Pabna Marine Academy in Nagarbari, Bera Upazila.
The parade was presided over by Pabna Marine Academy Principal Captain Md. Toufiqul Islam, along with Deputy Commissioner Shahed Mustafa and many others.
In his speech as the chief guest, Dr. Nurunnahar said that a marine officer earns the same amount of foreign exchange as about 50 unskilled workers. The government is striving to make the maritime profession more popular and modernize the training system.
He said that the five marine academies are playing an important role due to the growing demand for skilled marine professionals in the international market. Bangladeshi mariners are earning a significant amount of foreign exchange from working on ships in different countries of the world, which is directly contributing to the country's economic progress.
A total of 65 students, including 33 cadets from the 4th batch of the Nautical Department and 32 cadets from the Marine Engineering Department, received their farewell awards at the graduation ceremony.
