Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the prices of gold for the fifth consecutive time due to the cost of pure gold falls on the local market.

The new prices will be effective at 4pm on Sunday. It will remain in effect until further notice, said a BAJUS statement.

The association has cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 315 per bhori (11.664g).

According to the new pricing, top-quality or 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 1,12,616 while 21-carat gold will cost Tk 1,07,495, and 18-carat gold price at Tk 92,146.

The traditional gold price has been set at Tk 76,632. On the other hand, top-quality silver will now cost Tk 2,099 per bhori.

Jewellers said the frequent revise in gold and silver prices took place in recent weeks as the global market is unstable because of conflicts and tensions.

Meanwhile, BAJUS has revised the prices 15 times this year. It adjusted the prices 29 times last year.
