Gold price inflates by Tk. 630 per bhori

Jewellers have inflated the price of gold by Tk 630 to Tk 1,19,428 per bhori in the Bangladeshi market within two days of dropping the tariff on the precious metal.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting held on Sunday.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk10,239 per gram while it is Tk 9,774 for 21-carat, read a press release signed by committee Chairman Masudur Rahman.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk8,377 a gram while that of traditional gold at Tk6,744 a gram. New tariffs came into effect on Sunday afternoon, the release added.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram while 21-carat Tk172 and the price of 18-carat silver is Tk147 per gram, and Tk110 for traditional ones.
