atiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader’s wealth has more than tripled in the last five years while his wife Sherifa Quader’s wealth has more than doubled.

According to the affidavit submitted in the 12th national elections, cash, income from house rent and stocks have also increased for this couple.

In the affidavit of the 11th national elections, Quader mentioned that he had cash worth Tk14,47,973, which increased to Tk49,88,253 in five years. At the same time, his wife’s cash went up to Tk59,59,563 from Tk27,64,701 in five years.

Besides, he had deposits worth Tk13,02,435 in banks and financial institutions five years ago, which is Tk35,95,793 at present.

His wife had Tk4,07,258 deposited in banks and financial institutions, which has risen to Tk27,09,359.

GM Quader stated in his affidavit in the previous national elections that he had no income from agriculture, house rent, business, stocks, savings certificates, or jobs. He earns Tk11,58,000 as house rent received by his dependents, and Tk4.4 lakh from business.

In the affidavit of the 12th national elections, he mentioned that the income from house rent is Tk3 lakh, stocks and savings certificate is Tk30 lakh and the income of his dependents is Tk10 lakh.

Earlier, he used to have a Prado SUV worth Tk40 lakh. At present, he owns a Jeep worth Tk85 lakh.

Five years ago, his wife Sherifa had a car worth Tk15 lakh but now she owns a jeep worth Tk80 lakh. In the last five years, the amount of land, houses, and gold ornaments they had has not increased.

There was no case against Quader five years ago, but there is a criminal case against him which is under trial. He has no debt.

Deputy Leader of Opposition in the 11th Parliament GM Quader has been nominated for Rangpur-3 and Dhaka-17 constituencies for the next parliamentary elections.

Quader is a politician and intellectual by profession. So far, he has contested five parliamentary elections and was defeated once.

He won the parliamentary elections held in 1996, 2008 and 2018 from Lalmonirhat-3. However, he could not win that seat in the 2014 election. He was elected a Member of Parliament in 2001 from Rangpur-3 constituency.

Since JaPa founder and former president Hussain Muhammad Ershad died, GM Quader has been serving as the chairman of the party.
