Global University Bangladesh organized a grand Pitha Festival and New Year's Eve-2025 in Barishal.

A day-long Pitha Festival and New Year's Eve-2025 were held in the hall of the university's academic building on Sunday.

The program was presided over by the university's Treasurer, Prof Tapan Kumar Bal, and moderated by the lecturer of the law department, Bangladesh Supreme Court's learned advocate Zahidur Rahman Rajib, and the lecturer of the law department, Antara Das. The program was attended as the chief guest by the Vice Chancellor of Global University Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman.

Barishal District and District Magistrate Md. Golam Faruk, Associate Professor of the Law Department of Barisal University, Suprabhat Halder, and Legal Advisor of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology, Adv. Alam Rashid Likhon.

Among others present at the event were Global University Bangladesh Registrar Md. A. Quddus, University Finance Director Nasir Uddin, Board of Trustees Advisor Zakir Hossain Rari, and Fariduzzaman Russell.

Nazmus Shakib, Head of the Law Department of the University, Hasibur Rahman, Law Department Teacher, Md. Toha, Head of the English Department, Nabila, Lecturer of the English Department, Syed Imran Hossain, Head of the CSE Department, Lecturer Arif Sahariar, and teachers from other departments were also present.

A visit to the site showed that students from all departments of the university organized this pitha festival on the campus of the academic building. The pitha named Bahari includes Patisapta, Mugpakon, Sujir pitha pudding, Series pitha, Nakshi pitha, coconut naru, sesame naru, and sandesh, along with various types of pitha.

Law students Aliullah Imran, Jannatul Ferdous Ritu, Suraiya Jahan Shimu, Mazharul Islam Rifat and several others said that we are organizing this winter Pitha festival in an effort to maintain our national traditions. Various types of pitha have been made at the stall of the Law Department. The prices of various types of pitha have been kept from the lowest 5 taka to 200 taka.

The chief guest, Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman, said that freshmen reception, pitha festival, cultural programs are a part of education. One of the life of the university is to be involved in co-curricular activities. At the same time, he welcomed the freshmen to the university and wished them success in the pitha festival.

After the last pitha festival, the grand event ended with cultural programs.
