Md Golam Mortuza Majumder was appointed as new judge in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court .
He is a resident of Hasanpur Majumdar Bari, Anandpur Union, Fulgazi Upazila, Feni District.
The President has appointed 23 new judges in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court as per the powers given in Article 98 of the Constitution.
Chief Justice Refat Ahmed recited their oath in the Supreme Court Judges Lounge on Wednesday. Supreme Court Registrar General Aziz Ahmed conducted the oath ceremony.
Earlier on Tuesday, 23 people were appointed as judges in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court by order of the President. Later in the night, a notification was issued by the Ministry of Law. Md Golam Mortuza is first in the list of newly appointed judges. Before that he retired from serving as District and Sessions Judge.
Golam Mortuza Majumdar is known to all as an honest and modest person. Justice Dr. Gholam Mortuza Majumdar is the privileged child of deceased Mofizur Rahman Majumdar and Zarifa Khatun, born on 15 January 1960.
He passed BCS in 1982 and joined the service on April 20, 1993 and retired from the service of District and Sessions Judge on January 14, 2019. He was a District and Sessions Judge for 19 years in his long career. He passed LLB and MLM from Dhaka University.
