Freedom fighter Afsar Ali Kalam passes away

Famous freedom fighter Afshar Ali Ali (Kalam) passed away. Innanillahi .... Rajeun. He is the office assistant of Melandah Muktijoddha Sangsad in Jamalpur.
Kalam's son-in-law Lalon Mia ensured that , he died of a heart attack on January 1 (Friday) at 6 am.
He was 68 years old at the time of his death. Kalam's birthplace is in Sribari village of Jamalpur Nandina aria. He lived at Hanumantala in Baroipara of Melandha powrosava. He was buried at Melandah Central Cemetery with state honors after Asr prayers on Friday.
During the great liberation war he was studying in class six.
The family decided Kalam, to take the help of the needy family and took their elder brother Torap Ali Dafadar, to the police station to join the Pakistan Police Force.
At that time the Pak army was wreaking havoc all around. At that time, 4 more friends including Tofazzal, a neighbor of Kalam, managed to escape from the police station and swim across the Jinjiram River to India. He was recruited in the 7th Wing. Later he participated in the Liberation War of under Sector 11. He took part in many frontal battles including Narayankhola Bazar, Charaghati, Duduram. The last time he fought till Jamalpur has brrn freed.
