Former minister Dr Momen visits orphanage village in Sylhet

Shalia village of Khadimnagar union of Sadar upazila in Sylhet about 7 km away from Sylhet city.

A project has been developed in a remote area of that village. Named The Guardian Orphanage Village. Hundreds of orphan students will be given education by hand from there. They will be looked after by the Community Against Poverty-Cap Foundation, a service organization, until they are fully independent.

Former Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen visited the activities of the foundation on Sunday. Student admission process will start from next December.

From above it looks like a small red cottage. Construction work is going on somewhere and some cottages have been completed. It will be more charming after entering inside. Everything is made tidy. This village has been built on about 7 acres of land so that hundreds of orphan students can live easily. This project of the long-term foundation is so that they do not have to wait for anyone after the end of their education.

Going inside, it is seen that the beautiful room has been made for the orphans. Construction work is going on for primary school, secondary school, technical college, library, playground and mosque. If everything goes well, the program will start by the end of this year.

Sylhet-1 Constituency MP Dr AK Abdul Momen visited the village of orphan students on Sunday afternoon.

He was overwhelmed by their activities. He welcomed the initiative of some British youth towards the country. Bangabandhu expressed hope that the real golden Bengal will be developed. In the speech of the chief guest, Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that many organizations have come forward from their respective positions to build a poverty-free country, CAP Foundation is one of them.

CAP Foundation continues its activities for the welfare of the poor and backward people of the country.

He said that earlier CAP Foundation had given 50 boats to poor people to make them earn money. Giving a poor family a means of earning money instead of begging makes the family self-sufficient for life. He also said that they will have full cooperation of the government in this activity.

Chairman of Cap Foundation Bangladesh and former member of Sunamganj Zilla Parishad Abdus Sahid Muhit presided over and project coordinator Md. Sylhet-3 constituency MP Habibur Rahman Habib, district Awami League office secretary Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Joglu, Sylhet Chambers of Commerce and Industry president Tahmin Ahmad, director Fakhruch Salehin Nahian, founder of Bangladesh Female Academy Jamil Chowdhury, CEO of the foundation spoke as special guests in the program under the direction of Delwar Hossain. Abdul Noor Humayun, Cap's Legal Advisor Barrister Moinul Islam. Foundation volunteers Arif Ahmed Suman, Deepak Adhikari and others spoke among others.

Incidentally, the non-governmental organization Community Against Poverty-Cap Foundation is working for socio-economic development and the welfare of humanity. Former Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen.
